Control System Programmer (Crestron/AMX) | Sydney

Your core responsibilities are to provide outcomes to the business in all areas of programming, effectively interact with third party systems to provide POMT with effective deliverables, whilst providing the groundwork and tools to allow POMT to create a visible Unique Selling Proposition (USP).

What you'll be doing;
  • Adoption and improvement of POMT programming methodologies and implementation by defining or assisting with the definition of, a core ‘standard’ hardware definition allowing development of a programming template that can be easily localised to allow delivery worldwide.
  • Provide succinct documentation around POMT code and modules and its deployment to enable rollout by any programmer other than those employed by POMT.
  • Providing professional advice to the POMT Solutions, Engineering and Implementation and Support Services Teams around product selection and how these selections relate to the final client deliverable.
  • Provide input to Engineering, Programming and delivery teams, around industry standards, best practice and thinking. Ensure the POMT programming team are trained and up to date with the latest methods of coding and code implementation.
  • Maintain development and ongoing training around best practices in Programming for Crestron and or similar AV control systems.
  • Become the trusted ‘go to person’ for all things related ‘control and monitoring’
  • Have the ability to install, test and support control systems, both on-site and remotely.
  • Be able to troubleshoot installed systems at all stages including post implementation fault finding and system stability debugging regardless of who wrote/deployed the code in question.
  • Being able to lead and take responsibility for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Work within the time requirements needed to deliver outcomes within the required timeframe
  • Be able to provide Touch panel design to the POMT standards while keeping in mind usability and project scope.
  • Working with other SMEs and engineering staff to integrate DSP, VC and AC systems into the Crestron system.
  • Ongoing module development and documentation of the modules, to aid in more efficient and reliable deployments by both POMT and their contractors.
  • Produce well commented Code that allows for easy understanding and ongoing maintenance.
  • Working closely with Project Management Office (PMO) on client side deliverables.
  • Be an active member of the (R&D function) within the business and assist where required (includes Futures Team)
  • Designing the methodology and documentation to allow POMT to effectively utilise the service of contract programmers.
  • Guide and help develop junior members of staff through effective training and mentoring.
  • Work with vendors to help isolate and troubleshoot complex system issues.
What you'll have;
  • High level skills in the Crestron Programming Suite including Simpl Windows, Simp+, Simpl# and VT Pro-e.
  • C# Programming
  • C++ Programming
  • Crestron HTML5 UI
  • NVX programming and multicast switch configuration.
  • Understanding of corporate network methodologies, security requirements and protocols.
  • Experience with the following apps: Outlook, Asana, Workplace, Zoom, Teams, Smartsheets.
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation
  • High-level Audio Visual equipment knowledge including Lighting Control Systems, DSP Audio systems, Flex and other Conferencing systems, Video and Audio routing including IP based protocols, streaming/recording systems and the development of modules for these devices when not available.
  • Zoom room control integration.
  • Cisco In-Room control.

  • Crestron 301 Certified Programming
  • Crestron DMC-E Digital Media Certified Engineer
  • Crestron NVX Certified
