TripAdvisor, the company behind the world’s largest travel site, has combined its three key Australian subsidiaries into one office space for the first time. With its TripAdvisor, Viator and Dimmi teams coming together for the first time, the office fitout and design was focused on optimising the workplace experience for its 200 staff.

“Our new office space design was not about impressing clients, it’s all about attracting and retaining staff,” - Jeff Lewis, VP of Engineering, Attractions at TripAdvisor.

TripAdvisor’s new Australian headquarters are a showcase on how to create the ideal agile development environment. The company’s Australian development teams work closely with their colleagues from around the world, particularly in the US, making international collaboration a key requirement of the technology design and build.

“With the new office build, we were trying to enable our staff to collaborate across offices and collaborate together in real time and take advantage of our time zone so that we were able to work during our day which is the end of the US day, and in effect extend the working hours” - Duncan Hall, IT Director, Viator.

POMT was initially engaged in a strategy and consultancy capacity alongside the design team. We interpreted the global standard co-ordinating with the US workplace tech teams including visiting their newest US office build to truly understand their expectations.

We then moved into the delivery and implementation phase providing AV, Conferencing & Collaboration, Booking & Scheduling and Media Distribution solutions for the build. Post go-live POMT also established a managed services support model for the local team.
